salt water

lying in bed later that night,
i yawn and think
should i go out barefoot,
visit the stars?
think of sunlight’s glint
on the sea, earlier,
the scent of your neck
on the beach
your sadness swallowing
my serious joy
let’s luxuriate in that
mingling of sharp polarities
or wherever on the sand
we find ourselves.
i am teaching you
something about moons & rivers,
the taste of your own tears
so delicious
as they fall
down on my smile,
you can lick their nourishment
from your cheeks.
taste them & be angry
at how i won’t let you
ignore them.
